The Nike Kobe 5 Protro 5x Champ / Lakers commemorates the legacy of Kobe Bryant on his fifth signature shoe with Nike Basketball. The inspiration for this 5x Champ / Lakers colorway comes from none other than the NBA Championship leather jackets that were gifted to Bryant following his second and third title victories as a member of the Los Angeles Lakers. A glossy finish is applied to the entire upper. Court Purple leather detailing can be found on the perforated toe, tongue, and mid-panel. The contrasting black leather overlays on the forefoot, eyelets, and toe cap are outlined in yellow trim to bring the decidedly Lakers theme together. Black mesh is located on the upper half of the heel, while the lower portion of the heel sports a plastic cup design for maximum stability. Bryants signature dots the heel, and a black Swoosh with yellow accenting appears on the side of the shoe. A Zoom Air cushioning system is embedded in the icy translucent outsole.
