The NBA All-Star Weekend 2020 release draws parallels to the uniform Eddie Murphy wore in the 1988 film Coming to America while working at the fictional McDowells restaurant. Black mesh is found on the upper while the oversized Swoosh branding that makes up the midsole is finished off in a tartan pattern. The look is repeated on the tongue where contrasting A and Coming to America branding is embroidered in yellow fabric.
